Gone too soon! We all wish to be woken up to be told its all a dream, but alas it is true. Kofi is really gone.
Born on the 13th of May 1979, to Late Justice and Mrs J. E. Kofi, he spent his early life in Nigeria where he completed a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA). Lucky Okagbare Kofi, popularly called Kofi was a Nigerian international student here in Australia and had recently completed his Masters in Information Technology (Networking) from Charles Sturt University, Sydney Campus.
Since Kofi arrived in Australia in 2013, he had been actively involved in raising funds for some of the most vulnerable people around the globe. This include refugees from Democratic Republic of Congo to Syria (UNHCR), provision of sanitation for disadvantaged people in Kenya (OXFAM), helping to change the future of underpriviledged children (SAVE THE CHILDREN), cataract patients who cannot afford treatment (FRED HOLLOWS), orphans in East Africa (THIS LIFE - who are also partnering with us in fundraising) and most recently sponsoring of disadvantaged children and their communities through WORLD VISION.
Kofi had a bubbly personality, passionate about the things he believes in, God fearing, loving, caring and would be willing to make a sacrifice to assist anybody even if they met recently. In spite of all his academic commitments and other involvements, he contributed immensely to the Association of Nigerian Students in Sydney.
As the Nigerian Community, we are deeply saddened by this great loss and wish to respectfully send him home for final rest. Please, join us as we raise funds to give Kofi this final honour.
