OUTLINE OF THE FILM
This funding campaign has been created to help bring a new feature film to life. The production is based on an original script written by Peter Renzullo, local producer and owner/operator of Scudley Records in Perth.
The story revolves around the happenings of a musician called Lenny. It follows his struggle to make a name for himself in the music industry, while battling severe social anxiety issues. The concept was born out of a very common struggle all emerging artists face - making a name for themselves as established musicians. The difference with this story is that the biggest hurdle Lenny must face is not the other competition in the scene, but rather himself and his inability to venture into large crowds of people or be the centre of attention.
The tone of the film will be quite dark and moody, with 90 percent of the film being shot at night. This creates the atmosphere so many musicians are accustomed to, as most of their active moments in the scene happen at night.
GOALS FOR THIS CAMPAIGN
We have two main objectives with this campaign. The first is financial - we are aiming to raise $5,000 to help with the costs that will be incurred with location, equipment and post-production fees. The second goal is to recruit as many people as possible to come and be part of the shoot for some important scenes.
These scenes will be shot at various music venues around town, and as such we want to fill the audience with as many people as possible, particularly as they are pivitol scenes in which Lenny confronts his fear of large crowds.
Here are the venues and dates for the shooting of those important scenes (these may change but for now are staying as is):
27th of August - Ellington Jazz Club
14th of September - Badlands
We want as many people as possible to come along and be part of this shoot, we know it will be a massive scene and any help in bringing it to life will be so appreciated.
We have done some pre-production shoots to give you a sense of the stylistic approach being taken for this film, so please check out the trailer above.
Let's make this happen!
