All funds pledged will be collected when the pledge is made.

My dream is and always has been to share my gift of song with the world: to stretch people’s minds, open their hearts, and connect us to who we are and how we live.

Who am I?

I hail from Brisbane, where I started my classical training at a young age. After graduating with a Masters from the Conservatorium of Music, I built my profile throughout Brisbane performing with choral societies and orchestras and as a guest artist for several concerts and festivals. I have had success in competitions nationally, and am privileged to have gained professional experience in both mainstage and touring capacities with our state opera company, Opera Queensland. My work with OperaQ culminated in my debut last year as a Principal Artist playing the role of Rosina in Rossini’s The Barber of Seville.

What am I raising money for?

My funding request comprises of an inital phase in August (Lyric Opera Studio Weimar), and a developing phase (subsequent stay in Germany). This will comprise of freelancing, agent and theatre auditions, coachings and availing myself of opportunities to develop an international profile.
The Lyric Opera Studio Weimar is a program designed for emerging professional singers considering a career in Europe, with a focus on the German theater system. I will study and perform the role of Zerlina in Don Giovanni, and undertake sessions in audition and career management.

Any contribution you are able to make would be immensely appreciated. Your contribution will be used to fund the following:

Airfare – International ticket AUD$1,400

Ground Travel within Germany and surrounds for auditions –incl. trips to Berlin, Munich, Düsseldorf and Köln – AUD$200

Program – Lyric Opera Studio Weimar 3,850 Euro (approx. AUD$5,780)

Agency Auditions – 30 - 40 Euro (approx. AUD$45 - $60) per audition

Singing lessons – 50 Euro (approx. AUD$75) per hour

Voice audition training – 60 Euro (approx. AUD$90) per session

German Language – 1,928 Euro (approx. AUD$2,894) for continued study with the Berlitz Language School

Accommodation – 50 euros per week (approx. AUD$75) based on cost for shared accommodation in Wiesbaden

Visa – AUD$85 – $160 depending on the length of time granted.

Why fund me?

The financial and economic difficulties facing myself and fellow artists provide real barriers for not only achieving my dreams, but creating and sustaining a creative and nourishing environment in order to dream. My journey is now about grabbing hold of the opportunity to experience, learn and perform in order to reach the highest standard; the best of me. It is through YOUR support that this will be possible.

Although crowd funding is a somewhat removed way to contribute to a performing artist, rest assured your contribution will go directly towards my onward career. OzCrowd is a platform that supports Aussies and their dreams, and so I feel proud to be supported by an initiative by Australians, for Australians. Although my funding campaign relates to an international venture, it makes possible the long-term goal of a career in opera; experiencing and creating opportunities for opera and opera appreciation in Australia and the world.

Unfortunately or fortunately depending on your attitude, opportunities and the depth of one’s experience of opera in Australia only goes so far. Therefore it is imperative to experience the rich tradition and history Germany and greater Europe offers.

Singing is not something I can do, it is something I must do. As I stand at the edge of a new chapter, I stand with great enthusiasm to continue my love of music-making and the joy of bringing that to audiences. I look forward to what I may be able to achieve on a national and international scale with your financial support.

So thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
